A Morning Made for Moms

The Mindful Mama Belly + Body Oil is a True Botanicals x Sorette® collaboration, made for pregnancy and postpartum skin and created with input from Sorette's Scientific Advisory Board. To celebrate its launch, Sorette and True Botanicals hosted a Mindful Mama morning on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at the Bedford Post Inn in Bedford, New York.

A First for the Seal

Mindful Mama is the first product to launch with the Sorette Approved™ seal on both its primary and secondary packaging. Sorette worked alongside True Botanicals from development through launch.

Yoga for Every Stage

The morning opened with a prenatal and postnatal yoga class led by Moms Do Yoga, open to moms-to-be and new moms alike. Babies were welcome on the mats, which is our kind of yoga class.

Brunch and Good Company

Then came brunch and the best part of any mom gathering: time to talk. Conversation ran from sleep to starting solids and everything in between, while the littlest guests explored.

Meet the Mindful Mama Belly + Body Oil

The formula features centella asiatica, vitamin B3 and an omega-rich blend of fruit and seed oils. It absorbs quickly without feeling greasy and has a soft, ginger-forward scent that won't overwhelm a sensitive pregnancy nose.

It is Sorette Approved™, screened for substances known or suspected to impact human health, including during pregnancy and breastfeeding, against the Sorette No-Go List™. The standard is backed by Sorette's Scientific Advisory Board, and Sorette reviews current and new products every year. Shop the brand's full lineup in the True Botanicals collection.

Looking for a Pregnancy Belly Oil? Here's What to Know

Stretch marks are a type of scar that forms when skin stretches quickly, and pregnancy is one of the most common times they appear, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. A 2023 review in American Family Physician puts them at 55% to 90% of pregnancies, usually showing up in the third trimester, with genetics and hormones playing a big role.

Here's the honest part: no oil can promise you won't get them. The AAD notes that in studies, almond oil, cocoa butter, olive oil and vitamin E did not prevent stretch marks, and the American Family Physician review calls the evidence for over-the-counter products limited. So think of a belly oil as comfort and ritual: moisture for skin that feels tight or dry as it stretches, and a few quiet minutes that are just yours.

If you've been searching for a "pregnancy-safe belly oil," here's how Sorette approaches it. Sorette Approved™ products are screened against the Sorette No-Go List™ for substances known or suspected to impact human health, including during pregnancy and breastfeeding. It's information to help you make an informed decision, and your OB or midwife is always the best person to ask before adding something new.

Common Questions About Belly Oil

  • Does belly oil prevent stretch marks?

Research says no product can promise that. In studies, almond oil, cocoa butter, olive oil and vitamin E didn't prevent them, and genetics and hormones play a big part (AAD).

  • When should I start using belly oil during pregnancy?

There's no medical rule about timing. Stretch marks most often appear in the third trimester (AAFP), and you can start whenever your skin begins to feel tight or dry.

  • Is it safe to use a stretch mark oil while pregnant?

Read the ingredient list and ask your doctor or midwife about anything new. The AAD notes that some stretch mark treatments contain retinoids, so check with your doctor before using them while pregnant or breastfeeding. Every Sorette Approved™ product has been screened against the Sorette No-Go List™, which includes retinoids.

  • Can I keep using belly oil postpartum?

Mindful Mama was made for both pregnancy and postpartum skin, and Sorette's screening covers breastfeeding too. If you're nursing, check with your doctor or a lactation consultant about any new product.
