What does Sorette Approved mean?
When you see the Sorette Seal of Approval, it means a product has passed a thorough review based on Sorette's internal standards. The process varies by category — because what transparency looks like for a skincare serum is very different from what it looks like for a diaper or an infant formula.
For skincare and personal care products, our review is anchored by the No-Go List™ — a proprietary list of prohibited and restricted ingredients developed using toxicology research, global regulatory guidance, and input from Sorette's Scientific Advisory Board.
For diapers and wipes, our Diaper and Wipes Transparency Review goes beyond the ingredient list to evaluate how a product is processed, what's been tested, and how a brand documents the journey from raw material to finished product.
For infant formula, our Infant Formula Transparency Review evaluates how openly and consistently a brand discloses information about their product — from supply chain and testing practices to product claims and consumer access to information.
How does Sorette review and approve products?
For skincare and personal care products, brands submit full formulation details, third-party testing disclosures, and relevant sustainability information. Products are screened against the No-Go List™, typically within two to four weeks. Those that meet all criteria are eligible to license the Sorette Seal of Approval.
For diapers and wipes, brands are evaluated across seven review areas covering materials, processing, contaminant screening, and sustainability disclosures.
For infant formula, our review evaluates disclosure practices across six key pillars. Brands must demonstrate clarity, consistency, and accessibility in what they share with consumers, and are required to submit annual attestations confirming their disclosures remain accurate.
Across all categories, Sorette Approved is not a safety certification or medical endorsement. It reflects that a brand met our internal transparency standards.
